Since childhood, I have loved drawing and creating. Colors, shapes, symbols – everything held depth and meaning for me.
I studied pedagogy, but life gradually led me to a path of deep service – for more than 18 years, I have been working in funeral services. This experience has taught me to perceive life in all its fragility and strength.
Over time, I began to connect my artistic sensibility with elements of art therapy. I am currently enrolled in a two-year art therapy training program at the College of Polytechnics Jihlava as part of lifelong learning.
My work does not constitute therapy or treatment; rather, it creates a supportive and safe space for experience, creative expression, and release.
I believe that art can support healing experiences, open the inner world, and encourage personal reflection. This belief gave rise to the Jane Žitná Art project.

I apply cremation ashes to paintings using a technique that is protected by the Industrial Property Office. In this interview, we talked not only about the cremation ashes art workshop, but also about funerals in general. How do we perceive death, what kind of burial do we prefer, are we more conservative in this regard or do we like to try new things?

On Tuesday, an inspiring meeting was held at the Meziboří Social Services Center, led by lecturer Jane. The topic of the afternoon was "The Tree of Gratitude" - an art-therapeutic activity that combined creativity with deep reflection on what we are grateful for in our lives.
